Hon. Lady Justice Betty Mwaka Majula is a Judge of the Court of Appeal. She was appointed Judge of the Court of Appeal on 13th November, 2017. Justice Majula holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zambia and a Master of Laws degree from the University College London in the United Kingdom. She was admitted to the bar in 1992.
Prior to her current appointment, Justice Majula served as a Judge of the High Court from 2014 to 2017. Justice Majula served as a Deputy Chairperson of the Industrial Relations Court from 2006 to 2014. From 2005 to 2006, she served as Secretary & Legal Counsel of the Zambia Wildlife Authority. Justice Majula also served as Chief Legal & Prosecutions Officer at the Anti-Corruption Commission from 2002 to 2005, Executive Director of the Zambia Civic Education Association from 1999 to 2002, Legal Officer at EL Segaetsho & Co. in Botswana from 1992 to 1994, Lecturer at the Professional Training Centre in Botswana from 1991 to 1992, Junior Legal Practitioner, Namukamba Chambers from 1989 to 1990 and a Learner Legal Practitioner in the Department of Legal Aid from 1988 to 1989. Justice Majula previous served in the Judiciary as a Resident Magistrate, Senior Magistrate and Acting Principal Magistrate from 1994 to 1999.
Justice Majula is a member of the Zambia Association of Women Judges.
