Hon. Mr. Justice Kelvin Muzenga is a Judge at the Court of Appeal. He was appointed Judge of the Court of Appeal on 16th April, 2021.Justice Muzenga holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zambia. He was admitted to the bar in 2006.
Prior to his current appointment, Justice Muzenga served as a Director, Legal Aid Board from 2020 to the date he was appointed as Judge. Before that, he served as deputy Director for Legal Aid Board from 2014-2020. Justice Muzenga also worked for Legal Aid Board as Principal Legal Aid Counsel in charge of the Northern Region from 2008-2014. During this period he was involved in court annexed mediation and out of court settlement negotiations. From 2004 – 2007 he Worked for the Ministry of Justice, Legal Aid Department. From 2017-2021 he also worked as an external marker for Head 9 (Criminal Procedure) at the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education. From 2004-2005 he worked as a part-time Consultant for Management Services Board. In 2003 he worked as a part time Law Lecturer at Evelyn Hone College and International Tutorial College as a Law Lecturer.
Justice Muzenga is a member of various associations. He holds a post graduate diploma in Legislative Drafting. A Certificate in Law and Justice from the Danish institute for Human Rights – Certificate of participation in “Strengthening the capacity of Access to Justice in the Legal System in Zambia”, a course conducted at the Danish institute for Human Rights, 2009. Certificate of attendance, Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education, State Advocates’ 5th Annual workshop, 2009.
