The Judiciary on Wednesday 9th August 2017 witnessed the first graduation ceremony of 27 Judiciary security officers who were trained in Basic Security Training by the Zambia Police Training College in Lilayi. 6 of the security officers who underwent the training were female officers.
Speaking as she officiated at the closing ceremony on behalf of the Chief Justice, the Chairperson of the Advisory Committee on Training and Continued Education, Hon. Lady Justice E.N.C Muyovwe congratulated the graduates, on exhibiting exemplary conduct during training, and successfully completing their training.
The Hon. Lady Justice thanked the Chief Justice, for her dedication to capacity building in the Judiciary at all levels, the Chief Administrator for her continuous financial support, and the Zambia Police Training Command for hosting and conducting the training.
Hon. Lady Justice Muyovwe reminded the officers that security at any working institution is cardinal. She said “it is necessary that the working environment is secure and safe for the staff and indeed for members of the public. Therefore, this training could not have come at a better time than now. You may wish to know that the nature of your work demands that you exhibit high levels of discipline and integrity. It is my sincere hope that your work will be characterized with excellence, professionalism and ethical behavior”.
The graduates in their vote of thanks, though their representative Mr. Peter Zimba thanked the Judiciary and the Zambia Police Training College for facilitating the training, and promised dedicated service to the Judiciary, and Zambia as a whole.
