Hon. Mr. Justice Charles Zulu is the Judge-in-Charge of the Lusaka High Court – General list. He was appointed to the High Court on 11th May 2016. Justice Zulu holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zambia. He was admitted to the bar in 2004.
Prior to his current appointment, Justice Zulu served as Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court and Special Assistant (Legal) to the Chief Justice from 2014 to 2016. Justice Zulu has served in various positions in the Judiciary since he joined as a Magistrate Class II in 2003. He served as a Magistrate Class II from 2003 to 2004, Resident Magistrate at the Lusaka Subordinate Court from 2004 to 2006, Senior Resident Magistrate at Chingola Subordinate Court from 2006 to 2007, Principal Resident Magistrate at Kitwe Subordinate Court from 2007 to 2008, Chief Resident Magistrate at Kitwe Subordinate Court from 2008 to 2009 and Deputy Registrar at Kitwe High Court from 2009 to 2014.
Justice Zulu also served as the Special Assistant (Legal) to the Chief Justice, Secretary to the Council of Law Reporting Editorial Board, Deputy Director Judicial Centre of Excellence and Coordinator for Southern African Chief Justices Forum (SACJF), a Forum of Chief Justices from 16 Countries drawn from the Southern and Eastern Regions of Africa.
