Hon. Mr. Justice Joshua Ndyipola Banda was Judge of the High Court. He was appointed to the High Court on 14th July, 2021. Justice Banda holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Zambia and a Masters in Law degree in Intellectual Property from Africa University, Zimbabwe. He was admitted to the bar in 2006
Prior to his current appointment, Justice Joshua Banda served as Registrar of the High Court Industrial Relations Division from 2020 to 2021. Justice Banda served in various other positions in the Judiciary since he first joined as Magistrate Class II in 2006. He served as Registrar of the Ndola High Court from 2015 to 2020, Chief Resident Magistrate at Lusaka Subordinate Court from 2011 to 2015, Principal Resident Magistrate at Kabwe Subordinate Court from 2009 to 2011. Justice Banda served as an Associate consultant (Legal) at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) from 2006 to 2009 on part time basis and as a Leaner Legal practitioner at MNB legal practitioners from 2005 to 2006. He is a Consultant with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Justice Banda also served in the Teaching Service from 1997 to 1999.
He is a member of a number of professional associations, including the Magistrates and Judges Association of Zambia, Zambia Institute of Arbitrators and Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association.
