Hon. Lady Justice Katrina Maimbolwa Walubita is a Judge of the High Court at Chipata, appointed Judge on 27th May 2026. Prior to her appointment, she served as Registrar of the High Court Industrial Relations Division from August 2021.
Justice Walubita holds a Master of Laws Degree in Tax Law from the University of Lusaka (UNILUS) and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Zambia. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE), and was admitted to the Bar on 5th August 2008.
Justice Walubita has undergone professional development in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), including commercial mediation training with Pepperdine University, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the ADR Centre International, and the Edwards Mediation Academy.
Justice Walubita served as the first Registrar of the Court of Appeal from 2016 to 2020. Her previous judicial roles include serving as Sheriff of Zambia from 2013 to 2016, Senior Resident Magistrate at Ndola and later at Lusaka, and as Resident Magistrate from 2009 to 2013, at Ndola.
Justice Walubita began her legal career as a Learner Legal Practitioner in the Ministry of Justice. Before entering the Judiciary, she worked as a Senior Billing Officer at Celtel Zambia Limited and as a Value Added Tax (VAT) Inspector at the Zambia Revenue Authority. She also taught part-time at the Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS) from 2003 to 2005, where she lectured in Cost Accounting, Organisation Management, Business Law, and Legal Aspects of Banking.
Justice Walubita has served as Chairperson of the Judiciary Disciplinary Committee since 2021 and as Secretary to the Editorial Board of the Council of Law Reporting since 2019. Internationally, she served for eleven years (2011 to 2022) as Vice President for Central Africa on the Board of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association (CMJA – UK).
Justice Walubita is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA – UK), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA), an Associate member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
