HON. LADY JUSTICE DIANA MIZINGA MAJOKWE

PROFILE

 

Hon. Lady Justice Diana Mizinga Majokwe is a Judge of the High Court. She was appointed on 27th May 2026. Prior to her appointment, she served as Deputy Chief Parliamentary Counsel at the Ministry of Justice from July 2025.

Justice Majokwe holds a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Zambia. She was admitted to the Bar on 8th November 2013.

She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) and has completed short courses in International Introduction to Securities and Investments, the CWAG-AAP Training Programme on Oral Advocacy, Nuclear Safeguards Implementation for Sub-Saharan Africa, and International and Commercial Arbitration and Investor-State Dispute Settlement.

Justice Majokwe joined the Ministry of Justice as a State Advocate in 2013 and rose through the ranks, serving as Senior State Advocate from May 2017 to April 2019 and Principal State Advocate and Head of the Debt Collection Unit from April 2019 to February 2021. Thereafter, she transitioned into legislative drafting, serving as Principal Parliamentary Counsel from February 2021 to December 2024, Assistant Commissioner for the Revision of Laws from December 2024 to July 2025, and Deputy Chief Parliamentary Counsel from July 2025 until her appointment to the Bench.

She began her legal career as a Learner Legal Practitioner at Patmat Legal Practitioners, where she worked from February 2011 to May 2013.

Justice Majokwe has also held various statutory and committee appointments. She served as a Board Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission, a member of the National Task Force of Senior Officials of the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group, and a Committee Member of the Zambia Environmental Management Agency Technical and Advisory Committee. She also served as a Board Member of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ), where she chaired the Special Projects Assignment Committee that oversaw the construction of the HPCZ Head Office.
