Hon. Lady Justice Pixie Linda Mwila Kasonde Yangailo is a Judge of the Constitutional Court, appointed on 27th May 2026. Prior to her current appointment, she served as a Judge of the Economic and Financial Crimes Division of the High Court.
Justice Yangailo was appointed Judge of the High Court on 11th May 2016 and served in the General Division until May 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zambia and was admitted to the Bar in December 1993. She also holds a Certificate in the Human Rights of Women, obtained in 1996.
Before her appointment to the bench, Justice Yangailo built a legal career across private practice, corporate consultancy, and public institutions. She began her professional career attached to Jaques and Partners and also served as a legal practitioner at the National Legal Aid Clinic for Women. In December 1997, she joined Price Waterhouse Coopers Zambia as in-house Legal Counsel. In January 2004, she entered private practice at P. H. Yangailo & Company as Senior Advocate and eventually became a Partner.
In April 2004, she was appointed Commissioner of the Zambia Human Rights Commission, where she served as Vice Chairperson. In November 2007, she was appointed Chairperson of the Commission and served in that capacity until November 2013.
Justice Yangailo has also held numerous leadership and board roles, including serving as a member of the Council of the University of Zambia, the Energy Regulation Board, the Council of the Law Association of Zambia, and the Care for Business (CFB) Hospital Board of Trustees. She has also served on the Chief Justice’s Advisory Committee on Law Reforms and currently serves as Chairperson of the Chief Justice’s Advisory Committee on Training and Continuing Education.
