Hon. Lady Justice Claudia Luswili is a Judge of the High Court Family and Children’s Division. She was appointed on 27th May 2026. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Sheriff of Zambia from August 2021.
Justice Luswili holds a Master of Laws Degree in Commercial Law and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Zambia. She was admitted to the Bar on 22nd February 2013.
Her professional credentials include a Certificate in Introduction to Domestic Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and a Certificate in Trade-Based Money Laundering from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
Justice Luswili joined the judiciary as Magistrate Class II in 2012 and rose through the ranks to serve as Senior Resident Magistrate at the Mansa Subordinate Court until 2016. In 2017, Justice Luswili was appointed Deputy Sheriff at Kitwe, where she served from January 2017 to August 2021.
Her experience in private practice, spans from being a Legal Assistant at Forrest Price & Co Advocates from December 2010 to August 2012, to internships with Corpus Legal Practitioners from March 2008 to April 2010 and the Legal Resources Foundation.
Justice Luswili has also undertaken ad hoc judicial and committee roles, including chairing the Local Government Election Tribunal in 2016 in Mafinga. She has served as a member of the Chief Justice’s Advisory Committee on Recruitment and Promotions and the Judiciary Disciplinary Committee.
Justice Luswili is a member of the Magistrates and Judges Association of Zambia (MAJAZ).
