Hon. Mr. Justice Peter Chileshe is a Judge of the Family and Children’s Division of the High Court, appointed on 27th May 2026. Before his appointment, he served as a Partner at Messrs Luwingu Chambers from May 2024.
Justice Chileshe began his professional career as a Legal Officer at the Zambia State Insurance Corporation Limited, serving from July 2005 to March 2007. He joined the Zambia National Building Society as Legal Counsel in October 2007, before being elevated to Society and Board Secretary in August 2012, a position he held until April 2016.
Following his tenure in the corporate sector, he transitioned into private practice, serving as a Partner at Messrs Besa Legal Practitioners from May 2016 to December 2018. He later joined Messrs A. Mbambara Legal Practitioners as Senior Associate from 2019 to 2023, and thereafter transitioned to Messrs Luwingu Chambers as Partner in May 2024.
Justice Chileshe holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Zambia and was admitted to the Bar on 29th April 2005. He completed his Learner Legal Practice through a series of attachments, serving as a Legal Assistant at Messrs Forrest Price & Co. in 2001, an intern under the Ministry of Justice Legal Department in 2002, and a Legal Assistant at ZESCO in 2003.
